Remember this epic walk which began in 2010? Well, we're still trying to finish it....sadly without Mike and Barbara for this last leg.
Perhaps not the best day to pick as SWELTERING, but
initial stage through Hartswood Brentwood and along across damp ground
all good... We visited the formerly disused
church at East Horndon before crossing the A127 and walking along its
edge for 15 mins. Then more field towards Bulphan looking for shady
place for lunch.
The afternoon heat was relentless and we were
walking in open countryside on stubbly fields and listening to the wheat
crackling in the slight breeze. Onwards and
ever onwards to the welcome sight of Orsett village and the even more
welcome sight of a small shop selling ice cream! Thanks for the ices,
Chris and thanks for the leadership and planning as always.
